Sydney Oland ~ Blog and Portfolio

Even though I just got back from Canada, I will be heading back to Toronto for surgery in a few weeks.  I have to get my wisdom teeth out, and apparently I wont be able to have solid foods for a few days.  In order to make these few days livable I'm compiling a list of things that are yummy and mushy.

-Pudding
-Congee
-Polenta
-Creamed spinach
-Creme caramel
-Mashed potatoes and gravy
-Schneenockeln (aka floating island)
-Chicken soup with griesnockle (cream of wheat dumpling)
-Cream of mushroom soup
-Chopped liver on fresh challah bread
-Ice cream
-Poached eggs

Savory mushy things were harder to think of than sweet mushy things.  Any suggestions are welcome.

That's a great idea, I guess any sort of fruit compote would fit into the mushy category.

Thanks!

Oh Syd! Only you would come up with Chopped liver on fresh challah bread! We can make you rice pudding- that is generous on the custard. I also enjoyed popsicles post surgery. Pudding, might be good too....

Mmmm, rice pudding.

Is it weird that I'm looking forward to my surgery foods?

:P

Well, maybe you are special. I thought the liver thing was a bit weird, but again that is one of the many things that makes you special :)

ALSO, we could blend up whatever meat we are having for dinner for you (steak, chicken etc.).

Oh tofu, you could have tofu. Speaking of tofu, I tried the sour cream from the brand that does the soy cream cheese. It was a fail. The cream cheese tastes like cream cheese, the sour cream isn't sour. It tastes like pasty nothing.

I could have tofu! Awesome! I love tofu!

Maybe you didn't get the right brand? What kind was it?
